SATURDAY EVENING MASS – WHAT YOU PREFER
Thanks to the 36 people who returned response slips last Saturday evening at Mass.  Three people were in favour of a 5pm Mass;  twenty-five preferred 6pm Mass; eight preferred the 7pm Mass.  So a clear majority of 69% preferred the 6pm time.  There were a few regulars who were missing last Saturday so slips will be available for them this weekend if they ask Viv Robinson.  Hopefully we’ll see what the big picture is next weekend.  Our thanks to Thomas Langer from the Parish Pastoral Council for organising the consultation.  If we are to change the Mass we need to start thinking when we’ll introduce it.

THIS SUNDAY Margaret Swift and Andy Etchells will present a Summary of the Parish Accounts to us for April 2017-March 2018.  Margaret will do the same next Saturday Evening, October 27th

THE PARISH WALK  on Sunday, 28th October will be in and around the outskirts of Buxton and led by Phil O’Connell. It will be on minor roads and a couple of fields so stout shoes are recommended.  It will be an easy walk and about 3 miles in total.  The plan is to meet on Park Road by the entrance to the Cricket ground at 1.45pm.  There is plenty of parking there.  The walk will finish at the Parish Centre where refreshments will be provided.

QUIET TIME BEFORE WEDNESDAY MASS
We discussed this recently at the Parish Pastoral Council especially after the Eucharistic Congress in Liverpool in September.  We decided we would try a monthly quiet time before Wednesday morning Mass starting at 9.15 a.m. We shall have Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with some prayer and reflection beginning on November 7th. “In silence God ceases to be an object and becomes an experience”. Thomas Marton.
