PLEASE PRAY FOR  Bill Browne, Margaret’s husband from Sherwood Road, who died last week.
Thanks to those who came along last Sunday and especially to Margaret Swift, who planned it.  Although it was a disappointing turn out I thought we had a high-quality discussion especially about the decline in Mass numbers and the scarcity of volunteers for parish needs.  We decided to put the Bishop’s proposal for the High Peak to the whole parish at Mass sometime this November as it’s something we all need to know about and prepare for.
Do you know of any Catholics who would like a home visit or Holy Communion at home?  Please let Fr Gerry or Iris Thomson know.
SYNOD ON THE AMAZON taking place in Rome until October 27th.  See daily reports on and and>events.
NEXT WEEKEND There will be Retiring Collection for World Missions, the Missio Red Boxes
NEXT WEEKEND  We shall give you a report of Parish Finances from the past year.
Please take an envelope today.
CONGRATULATIONS TO JULIA WIGGINS who was appointed permanent Headteacher of St Anne’s School last Monday.  Julia has been “Acting Headteacher” and “Head of School” over the past 18 months and has been responsible for significant improvements especially in SATS results, Staff morale, and parent relationships.  I have invited her to come and talk to us at Mass in the near future and she has already planned a Christingle Service for the school here on Sunday, December 22nd at 3 pm.
DON’T FORGET TO BUY YOUR TICKETS FOR THE GALA CHARITY MUSICAL EVENING  on SATURDAY 26TH OCTOBER AT 7.30 p.m. in the Parish Centre.  Tickets are available at the back of the church at a cost of £12 which includes a glass of wine and tea and coffee.  Raffle tickets will also be available for wonderful prizes. In doing so you will be supporting the KAOMA Orphanage, Zambia.  Lynn Collins will say a few words about the event at Mass today.
