CAN CATHOLICS LISTEN MORE?
Thank you for welcoming Angela Gillespie. Thanks to those who have already returned their questionnaire. There is a box in the entrance for completed ones at both churches. Please make every effort to return yours and any of your friends by next weekend, 2nd & 3rd July. The PPC will analyse them and meet with Angela on the 11th and 12th of July. My thanks to Mrs Wiggins, and Mr Redfern for distributing them to the parents and staff of both our Catholic schools.
EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION
We will be re-introducing Eucharistic Ministers helping to distribute Holy Communion from the beginning of July in St Anne’s.
COUNTERS
We will also be re-introducing the Counters rota in St Anne’s. As many more are now using standing orders, there has been a reduction in the number of envelopes and cash. Due to this, we feel that it makes sense to count every other week (not each week as previous).
If you would like to be included on either, or both rotas, please let Margaret or me know as soon as possible or email: stannesbuxton@gmail.com
CHAPEL NEWS:
FIRST HOLY COMMUNION CELEBRATION
Last Sunday 6 children received Holy Communion for the first time. Members of the parish joined with friends and families to celebrate a wonderful mass, followed by a shared meal. Our thanks to Gráinne, the parents and all who helped with flowers and food. It was a fantastic day! The mass is available to view on our Facebook page.
DEACON DON would like to thank everyone who has supported him over the years as he celebrates the 5th anniversary of his ordination. He asks for your continued prayers.
A SERVICE OF ANOINTING AND HEALING will be held on Sun 10th July at 2:30 pm at St. Anne’s. We are inviting everyone to celebrate our coming out of all the fears and stresses of the last two years, especially the housebound, vulnerable and those feeling the need for healing. There will be refreshments afterwards in the Centre. Our thanks to Iris Thomson on behalf of the Visiting Group, and John Cassidy on behalf of the Eucharistic Ministers for co-ordinating it. Please take an invitation today for yourself or anyone you know who might be interested.
