January 2021 lockdown - we are still open!

Churches are still open for communal worship despite the national lockdown announced on the 4th January. Our churches will remain open for the celebration of Mass and are both Covid safe. Please note that booking is essential for weekend Masses in both Chapel and Buxton; you will find booking details below.

The safety of our communities remains our priority and we remind you that the Sunday Obligation continues to be lifted and this doesn’t mean that our faith has to be put on hold. We understand that many of you are shielding or are feeling anxious about the current situation and we encourage you to participate in our regular livestream Masses, from both Chapel and Buxton.

Remember John's Gospel (1:5) and its message of hope and strength:

“A light shines in the dark, a light that the darkness could not overpower”.

Our hopes for the Journey Together

In September, we embarked on a new journey of bringing together our two faith communities. To help us, we invited Srs. Mary Deane and Susan Richert, to work in consultation with both parishes to consider our hopes and fears, and suggestions for the future. They invited us to share our reflections to several questions by way of a questionnaire that was distributed in both Chapel and Buxton.

Srs. Susan and Mary then collated the responses and met with each of the Parish Pastoral Councils (PPC) separately, Fr. Gerry and Deacon Don, and reflected on the responses.

They returned to us and spoke to us about our responses, making some suggestions about more co-operation between our two communities as we move forward as one faith community. Please read the leaflet below.
